New York State Electric and Gas (NYSEG) has secured $1 million in NYSERDA funding to evaluate the feasibility of a compressed air energy storage facility in Reading, New York. The facility would relieve the power grid by using stored, compressed air to turn turbines.The evaluation is expected to be completed this year and if feasible, the plant could be online in the next four years.
