125 BROAD GREEN BUILDING TOUR

April 2, 2013 - 6:00pm to 7:00pm

Join Urban Green Council for an exclusive tour of 125 Broad Street, a 40-story, LEED EB: O&M Silver office building, serving as headquarters to the law firm Sullivan & Cromwell.

The tour will be led by Kevin McCann, Cushman & Wakefield's Downtown Head of Investor Services, who serves as Portfolio Manager for the Class A, 1.3 million square foot building. Recently featured in the Wall Street Journal article, "New Stars Arise After Sandy," Kevin was instrumental in the building's restoration after the storm. With flooding in all three of the building's basements, which are each about an acre in size, cleanup crews were tasked with hauling out 150 large garbage trucks full of debris. The basements were completely flooded, as water reached within a foot of the lobby level (amounting to about 40 feet of water). However, due to the tireless, but coordinated efforts of the management team, the building was back upand running for tenants within two weeks after the storm.  Discussion will focus on the LEED for Existing Buildings certification efforts at the building, as well as storm preparations, restoration, and lessons learned to enhance the building's resiliency.
