Today marks $1 billion in stimulus funding for clean energy projects Today marks the billion dollar mark for stimulus spending by the US government on private sector renewable energy projects. At a meeting today of a group of clean energy developers and manufacturers at the White House, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and Energy Secretary Steven Chu announced $550 million in awards through the Recovery Act for 25 projects, including one in New York State. The first round of the awards, totaling $502 million, was announced on September 1.
