Expanded Upstate internship program launched this week: www.Project-ION.com

An all new, expanded Project-ION (www.Project-ION.com) launched this week with a easy to use portal to premier summer internship opportunities in Central Upstate New York.  On average ION has listed 450 regional internship opportunities each year, supporting 200 participating companies and an average of 2,500 registered student users.  In late 2009 Project-ION received a generous charitable contribution from the KeyBank Foundation, allowing for major functional and aesthetic upgrades. The new site launched March 1st, 2010, with upgrades including a new, easy to use site design, connectivity with various social media outlets, and a "search" option, which will allow employers to quickly and easily look through ION's bank of student resumes for their perfect internship candidate.

Thanks to a partnership with Pipeline 4 Progress, a think tank dedicated to attracting and retaining talent in Upstate New York's Southern Tier, the new site also reflects an expanded regional footprint. The site, which originally listed internships only from within Central Upstate New York's twelve counties, now lists positions from twenty-one counties across the state.

It is a project of the Central Upstate Regional Alliance in collaboration with the Metropolitan Development Association of Syracuse and Central New York, the Greater Syracuse Chamber of Commerce, and the Manufacturers Association of Central New York. The Syracuse Technology Garden is a supporting member.
