Central Upstate New Yorkers are more likely to shop at a local farmers market, reuse grocery bags, recycle household goods or use reusable drinking containers instead of bottled water, according to a recent survey by Earthsense. By a wide margin, CNY residents were more likely to engage in a variety of more sustainable lifestyle choices than the rest of the nation. Leading a green life may be one of the reasons that the region is earning an international reputation as a sustainability leader.
