The conference on the Task Force Report on Diversifying the New York State Economy through Industry-Higher Education Partnerships is Friday, June 18. Featured speakers include William Destler, President of RIT, and Robert Palazzo, Provost of RPI who will discuss steps their institutions are taking to forge productive relationships with industry. Director of Higher Education for the State of New York, and Executive Director of the Task Force, Daniel Doktori, will provide an overview and remarks about the report. NYSTAR Executive Director Ed Reinfurt will discuss New York’s plans for implementing the report.
Julie Shimer, President and CEO of Welch Allyn will speak from an industry perspective, addressing the recommendation that companies proactively communicate their research and technology needs to university researchers and establish broad-based relationships with universities. Assemblyman William Magnarelli will provide lunchtime remarks There is no charge for the conference.
